Can I open an account in the Fiat24 mobile app?
Only individual clients can open Individual Accounts through the mobile app.
Corporate clients (with dedicated Business Account numbers that start with the digit eight) must be activated manually by our Client Service team. Please note that we only onboard companies who are the beneficial owners of all the assets deposited with Fiat24. We do not open accounts for companies intending to deposit client funds or operate accounts on behalf of their clients or other third parties.

Why do I need to KYC?
KYC (Know-Your-Customer or Know-Your-Client) allows us to identify you in order for us to fulfil our legal and regulatory requirements, for example anti-money laundering requirements.
What changes after registration?
Before registration, your NFT is set to Tourist status, which means you can only get a look and feel of the decentralized application, and change your account nickname. After successful registration, you can use our financial services services up to a limit of 100'000 CHF / 30 calendar days on a rolling basis.
What type of ID is accepted to verify my account?
You must have a Biometric ID or Passport (aka ePassport).
Why do I need to take a selfie?
In order to fulfil our legal and regulatory requirements, we need to perform an identity check on your before registering you as a standard client with full access to the Fiat24 services. This includes comparing your selfie to your photo ID to make sure you are the one opening the account.
Can a friend open an account for me?
No. We have facial recognition during the verification process to make sure you are the person holding the identity document. You will have to take a selfie during the process so that it can be matched to your identity document. To protect the account holder, we reject all applications from 3rd parties.
All personal data is encrypted and stored securely by Fiat24.
My application has been rejected, why?
As a licensed financial institution, we accept our clients in very prudential way. If we believe your domicile, risk profile, or background doesn’t match our business focus, we may not accept the business relationship with you. For more details, please read our Terms Of Use.
For regulatory reasons, we unfortunately cannot serve registered users domiciled in the following territories: Afghanistan, Albania, Barbados, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cayman Islands, Central African Republic, Chad, China, Congo (Democratic Republic of the), Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Cuba, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Guinea-Bissau (Republic of), Haiti, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Iraq, Israel, Jamaica, Jordan, Kenya, Korea (Democratic People's Republic of), Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Mali (Republic of), Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar (Burma), Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine State, Panama, Philippines, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria (Syrian Arab Republic), Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United States of America, Vanuatu, Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of), Yemen, Zimbabwe.
If you have ever had a Fiat24 account, regardless of its current status, you cannot open a new Fiat24 account.
Additionally, we reserve the right to reject applications from other countries in case of doubts regarding our regulatory and security requirements.
How long will it take to open an account?
Less than one business day. Please note that our working hours are aligned with Central European Time (CET).
Why is my GPS location collected during registration?
In order to fulfil the legal requirements of the Swiss Banking regulator FINMA, your GPS location needs to be captured during the account opening process.
Why is my tax information collected during registration?
In order to fulfil the legal and regulatory tax requirements, we collect your Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), which is an identifying number used for tax reporting purposes.
I am a Japanese citizen, but live in Germany. Can I register as a Fiat24 client?
Yes, you can. At the moment, we only accept domicile addresses in specific countries.
Can I change my profile details after I have submitted the onboarding form?
In order to modify your information after submitting the onboarding form, you need to contact our Customer Service directly.
Can I register twice and have two accounts?
No, each individual should have only one account in Fiat24. If you apply for a second time with a new NFT account number, your second registration will be rejected.
This applies even if the previous account has been closed, so you cannot open a new account even if you have closed the previous one.
What do the statements in the checkboxes mean?
We are requited by law (Art. 7a Swiss Banking Ordinance) to inform you that public deposits to Fiat24 are not covered by any depositor protection scheme. We are also required to inform you that our business model comes with associated risks, including legal risks, standard risks of the banking system (such as fluctuations of interest rates, etc.), as well as those associated with the use of blockchain technology (such as dealing with cryptocurrencies, risks associated with your payment records stored in Ethereum network, including any risks associated with privacy in the relevant payments, etc.).
"I own this account alone" means that you have sole beneficial ownership of the assets deposited in your Fiat24 Individual Account. Fiat24 does not currently offer joint accounts or accounts opened on behalf of another beneficiary (Terms and Conditions, section 4).
Fiat24 will only open an account for you if you accept the above conditions.
